The GMES Commission is convening a Joint Service Workshop that will bring together consortia from both the Land and Marine service area. The workshop is scheduled to take place from 6th to 10th September 2021 in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

The objectives of this workshop are to address strategic and technical challenges related to the service implementation in the four pillars of GMES & Africa i.e. Infrastructure & Data, Products & Services, Training & Capacity Development, and Outreach, Awareness & Engagement, and to identify mechanisms for cross-fertilization of services among the consortia, private sector, Academia, NGO’s.

The expected outcome of this workshop is a resolve that allows consortia to design, develop and run services in an uninterruptible manner and value-addition of services through cross fertilization.
