GECA’s membership is mainly experts and professionals in the thematic areas and the data-information-knowledge management functions. These constitute the entity’s technical resource as trainers, advisors, and consultants for GECA’s work programmes.
Membership is open to individuals and organisations that subscribe to the objectives and ideals of GECA Research Institute.
GECA membership stands at 44 active individual experts from 7 countries. These hold PhD, Masters and Bachelor qualifications
Building partnerships e.g AWARD (African Women in Agricultural Research and Development) on capacity building, and CANU on climate change advocacy, etc.
MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP
Full membershipopen to all scholars, professionals, and policymakers who have postgraduate or advanced training in environment, agricultural, and social sciences, and related disciplines. Full members have voting rights.
Honorary membershipisaccorded to those recognized for their lifetime achievements in the GECA’s thematic areas (retired academia/scientists and policymakers, and community leaders and elders). Honorary members have no voting rights.
Student membershipis open to graduate and undergraduate students with an interest in the GECA’s thematic areas. Student members have no voting rights.
Associate membershipis open to scholars, professionals, and policymakers who support the objectives of the organisation but are not eligible for regular membership. Membership is sought through an expression of interest addressed to the Executive Secretary. Associate members have no voting rights and membership is subject to periodic review to ensure alignment with the intents and interests of GECA.

Open to institutions that support the objectives of GECA. Corporate members are allowed to vote but are limited to only one vote which would be expressed by its authorized delegate.
